With summer on the horizon, families are preparing for vacation, beach or poolside days, and spending quality time together. This moment to relax and recharge can be challenge for children and families grieving a serious medical condition or death. This might be a family’s first vacation without their special person or a serious medical condition can cause a loss of normalcy for a child. Tu Nidito continues its programs all through summer, offering children, teens, their caregivers, and young adults a safe space to hold their grief and be in community with one another. We are forever dedicated to this level of care, empathy, and dependability.
In the hotter months, things can slow down a little bit in Tucson; however, there are a lot of exciting things to talk about going on at the Nest:
Registration is now open for The 42nd annual El Tour de Tucson! Riders can support Tu Nidito and grieving children across Southern Arizona by joining our team to Ride for a Child. Those who commit to raising at least $500 will have their registration covered by us and each dollar raised is eligible for the AZ Charitable Tax Credit. Interested riders can fill out this form or direct any questions to Geramee Hensley.
Although it’s few months away, save the date for Dueling Pianos September 26th at The Grand Tucson. The work we do can be heavy to hold, but we’re excited to present this uplifting evening of music and dancing. Tickets are on sale now, and it’s never too early to buy one!
If you’re in town, we would love to see you. We have an open house Friday, June 27th from 7:30 – 10:00 AM, and you can RSVP here. We wish you all a safe and exciting summer.
With gratitude,
