As we move into Summer, many people look forward to activities such as heading to the beach, swimming, vacationing and spending time with family. Though these things bring hope and excitement for so many, there are children and families having a harder time because they are experiencing the diagnosis of a serious medical condition or death of a loved one. Tu Nidito continues its programs all through the summer months allowing children, teens, their caregivers and young adults a safe space to hold their grief and be amongst those experiencing similar situations and feelings. This month, children in our bereavement support groups will have the opportunity to create “What I Wish for You” cards to give to the adults and caregivers in their lives who are grieving to help them feel better. Thank you to our wonderful volunteers for continuing to facilitate these sessions and help us provide much needed support services at our little nest.
It is still several months away, but save the date for one of our favorite nights of the year with Tu Nidito’s Dueling Pianos event on September 6, 2024 at Site 17! The grief work we do is difficult, but we’re excited to present this fun evening where everyone can sing and dance the night away. Food and beverage will abound including a buffet dinner and full bar. Keep an eye out on our website for tickets to go on sale in just a few days. We are excited to share this amazing night with everyone. Sponsorship opportunities are available now.
We wish you all a safe and exciting summer. We truly appreciate all of the continued support for Tu Nidito and the services we provide to children and families grieving throughout Southern Arizona.
With gratitude,
