We hope you’ve been staying cool and well hydrated as things heat up in the desert, and we all anxiously await for more monsoon showers! Summer presents a unique opportunity to reflect on the first half of the year and plan for what’s next. To support our programs, we’ll be hosting two new volunteer trainings in the coming months, so if you know someone exceptionally caring and empathetic, tell them we could really use their help.
July is Bereaved Parents Awareness Month, and we at Tu Nidito are thinking about all those parents and caregivers who have experienced unimaginable pain through the death of a child. If you know a parent who is grieving, Tu Nidito is here to connect them with resources and information so they can find the community and level of support that is right for them.
There are several fun ways to support us through these summer months. We are actively recruiting riders for our Ride for a Child team to participate in the 42nd annual El Tour de Tucson. Those who commit to raising at least $500 will have their registration covered by us and each dollar raised is eligible for the AZ Charitable Tax Credit. Interested riders can fill out this form or direct any questions to Geramee Hensley. We also have Jim Click Millions for Tucson Raffle tickets for sale! This year, three amazing prizes are up for grabs.
Lastly, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our generous donors who empower us to continue nurturing a grief-informed community. Recently, we were a recipient of Community Foundation of Southern Arizona’s CORE Grant. We’re also grateful to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, HS Lopez Family Foundation, Pacific Premier Bank, The Diane and Bruce Halle Foundation, Fred and Christine Armstrong Foundation, and Maurice R. and Meta Gross G. Foundation for their continued support. Of course, we must also thank our Dueling Piano sponsors. Don’t forget to save the date: September 26th at The Grand Tucson! Tickets are available for purchase now.
With gratitude,
